Host Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, interviews Jason Fung, MD about The Obesity Code, a book that he authored where you can learn about an original, robust theory of obesity that provides startling insights into proper nutrition.
Dr. Jason Fung earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto, where he also completed his internal medicine residency before heading to the University of California, Los Angeles, for his fellowship in nephrology. He currently practices as a kidney specialist in Toronto. He is the chief of the department of medicine at Scarborough General Hospital. In addition to clinical medicine, he is also on the board of directors of Low Carb Diabetes Association and the scientific editor of the Journal of Insulin Resistance.
Dr. Fung is the founder of the Intensive Dietary Management Program, which provides a unique treatment focus for type 2 diabetes and obesity. In addition to his five basic steps, a set of lifelong habits that will improve your health and control your insulin levels, Dr. Fung explains how to use intermittent fasting to break the cycle of insulin resistance and reach a healthy weight—for good.
