Heather Dawn Godfrey, PGCE, BSc, is an aromatherapist, fellow of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, and an aromatherapy teacher. She has published a number of articles and research papers exploring the benefits of essential oils, such as how they can be applied in the management of ADHD.
Heather worked for a number of years at the University of Salford, Greater Manchester, in the School of Health Science and Social Care, where she was program lead for the BSc Integrated Therapy in Practice degree, and module lead for Aromatherapy. Today, we will discuss her book, Essential Oils for Mindfulness and Meditation.
This book explores the dynamic role essential oils play in supporting health and well-being and provide a comprehensive overview of essential oils. It covers the following areas:
- the role they play entrenched within the history of medicine,
- their botanical derivation within plants,
- their dynamic holistic role as hedonistic, healing and wellness remedies and ingredients.
Although aimed at the curious ‘everyday’ user who wishes to learn more, these books also provide a sound, valuable, foundation on which to develop further deeper study, and also provide a very useful point of reference.
