About Claude K Lardinois
Claude K Lardinois, MD, FACP, MACN, FACE is Emeritus Professor, Endocrinology Division, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, Nevada. Dr. Lardinois is a board certified endocrinologist. His research interests include work in nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He has a notable interest in eradicating heart disease, the major cause of death in the world. Dr. Lardinois is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Master of the American College of Nutrition (MACN) and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE).
What is Insulin Resistance?
Insulin resistance is a state where the target tissue receptors in our liver are not responding to the insulin released by the pancreas. When someone is diagnosed of having insulin resistance, the person is at a much higher risk of developing coronary disease, PCOS, kidney disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.
