Ellen Kamhi Ph.D., RN interviewed Dr. Matthew Jay Budoff, MD about the surprising heart benefit of garlic.
About Dr. Budoff
Dr. Matthew Jay Budoff, MD, FACC, FAHA, is a professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the endowed chair of preventive cardiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Budoff has been the lead researcher on numerous studies showing the healing powers of garlic, but he says few doctors know to recommend it. This common vegetable has been the subject of 4,525 study abstracts that can be found in the National Library of Medicine showing it can successfully treat more than 150 chronic diseases, including infections and heart disease.
Dr. Budoff says if used properly and in the right amounts, garlic, and specifically aged garlic extract, can be instrumental during the high-stress environment of the pandemic as it has shown to dramatically improve heart health, reverse early heart disease, and prevent strokes and heart attacks.
