I am so happy to share herbal knowledge with you at the 14th annual Florida Herbal Conference, and I’d love to invite you to join me there where I will be presenting!

Botanical Secrets- From Doctrine of Signatures to Adaptogens

Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, RH(AHG) The Natural Nurse®, will present ancient theories and modern scientific validation about the spectacular healing activities of Herbal Medicine. We will delve deeply into Botanical Secrets that can be gleaned from The Doctrine of Signatures and investigate the health supportive potential credited to a group of herbs referred to as Adaptogens. Modern research has uncovered various mechanisms of action that may explain their ability to help the body resist and adapt to stress. These include positive effects on biosynthesis of RNA and proteins, balancing carbohydrate metabolism, reducing cortisol, and decreasing inflammatory mediators. Lets investigate the secrets !

Every year, the Florida Herbal Conference features educational opportunities for herbal enthusiasts through workshops, keynote speaker, plant walks, and networking, with chances to explore vendors and enjoy musical performances.

This year, we are excited to celebrate the 14th anniversary of gathering our herbalism community with a one-day event at Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park.

This memorable event is designed for herbal enthusiasts of any level and vocation to learn from each other, as well as our keynote speakers, teachers, and the plants themselves. We will build relationships with our herbal sisters and brothers, meet vendors with services and goods that bolster our passions in herbalism, and we’ll get grounded in our practice through education, fellowship, and community in nature. All the while, we’ll dance and sing along with uplifting musicians.

The focus for our 2025 Florida Herbal Conference is on the healing flora of Florida. Our conference seeks to educate about and advocate for the conservation and preservation of our bioregional ecology. Together, we gather to begin the process of healing ourselves and each other as we help heal the planet. A portion of all proceeds will also be donated to support United Plant Savers.
